The Noble Peace Prize Winners

The winners of the Nobel Peace Prize have been announced. The following are the laureates:

The Nobel Prize for Peace 2007:
INTERGOVERNMENTAL PANEL ON CLIMATE CHANGE (IPCC) and ALBERT ARNOLD ( AL) GORE JR. for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change.

The Nobel Prize for Literature 2007:
English writer Doris Lessing for "that epicist of the female experience, who with scepticism, fire and visionary power has subjected a divided civilisation to scrutiny"

The Noble Prize in Chemistry 2007:
Gerhard Ertl from Germany for "for his studies of chemical processes on solid surfaces".

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine 2007:
Mario R. Capecchi, USA, Sir Martin J. Evans, UK and Oliver Smithies, USA, "for their discoveries of principles for introducing specific gene modifications in mice by the use of embryonic stem cells".

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2007:
Albert Fert,France and Peter Grünberg, Germany, "for the discovery of Giant Magnetoresistance"

The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2007
Leonid Hurwicz, Eric S. Maskin and Roger B. Myerson, USA, "for having laid the foundations of mechanism design theory"
